Installing a window screen is a common household maintenance task. Here are the detailed installation steps:

Preparation: Before installation, prepare the materials, such as: window screen and retaining strip. These can be purchased in stores or online.

Removing the Window Screen: Remove the window screen from the window and place it on the ground for easier installation. Removing the screen is simple; just hold the edge of the screen and lift it upwards. A gap will appear at the bottom of the screen. Slightly tilt it, and you can remove the screen.

Removing the Old Screen: After removing the old screen, remove it. First, remove the retaining strip. Because it has been used for a long time, the retaining strip around the edges has aged and become clogged in the screen's grooves, making it difficult to remove. Use a sharp tool to pry it out.

Installing the New Screen: After removing the old screen, lay the new screen on the window frame. First, spread it out and align it with the frame, then press the retaining strip in to secure it around the edges. Alternatively, a professional molding tool can be used very quickly; simply roll it forward to press it in. After replacement, trim off any excess around the edges. Use scissors to cut off the excess, but don't cut too much to prevent the molding from lifting up if not properly secured.

Installing the Screen: After the new screen is installed, you can install the screen onto the window. The installation method is basically the same as removal. Hold the screen on both sides with both hands, align it with the groove on the window frame, then lift it upwards and slightly angle it to fit into the window frame.

Drilling and Fixing: Drill holes inside and at the bottom of the window frame. Drill holes as needed and install screws. The screen is now successfully installed.

Inspection: After installation, check if the screen works properly. Check if it is securely installed and if it slides smoothly. Also, clean any dirt from the surface. The screen is now ready for use.
