Fiberglass yarn is a fibrous material made from molten glass drawn into yarn through a textile process. Its main components are silicon dioxide (SiO₂) and other metal oxides (such as Al₂O₃, CaO, etc.), exhibiting inorganic non-metallic properties. The following is a multi-dimensional analysis:

 

Technical Principle:

The raw material is melted at 1450-1600℃ and then drawn at high speed through a platinum-rhodium alloy spinneret (the diameter of a single filament is typically 5-25 micrometers).

The fiber surface is treated with a coupling agent (such as silanes) to enhance its adhesion to resin.

 

Characteristics:

High Strength: Tensile strength can reach 3000-5000MPa, twice that of ordinary steel.

Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to acids and alkalis (stable in environments with pH 1-14).

Insulation: Volume resistivity > 10¹⁵Ω·cm.

Temperature Resistance: Long-term operating temperature -60℃ to 450℃.
