I. Common Classifications of Window Screens

1. Common Window Screen Materials

(1) Nylon Window Screens

Nylon window screens are a common type of window screen, mainly made of nylon. Nylon window screens have many advantages such as being lightweight, aesthetically pleasing, acid and alkali resistant, and breathable. Furthermore, they are easy to clean and can be easily disassembled for washing. Nylon window screens offer relatively high cost-effectiveness and are therefore widely used in residential buildings.

(2) Fiberglass Window Screens

Fiberglass window screens are made of fiberglass and polyethylene (PVC). Their main characteristics are good weather resistance, anti-aging, low-temperature resistance, heat resistance, dryness prevention, moisture resistance, flame retardancy, and anti-static properties. In addition, fiberglass window screens also have good light transmission and tensile strength, are durable, have a beautiful appearance, and a robust structure.

(3) Metal Window Screens

Metal window screens are a common window protection device, mainly made of metal wire or metal mesh. These screens have advantages such as durability, insect prevention, and ventilation.

Metal screens come in a variety of materials, including stainless steel and aluminum alloy. All materials offer good corrosion resistance and strength, making them sturdy and durable. Furthermore, the mesh size of metal screens can be customized to meet specific needs, preventing insects from entering the room without affecting ventilation and lighting.

2. Types of Screens

(1) Single-Layer Screens

Single-layer screens are mainly made of nylon, are inexpensive, but have poor sealing, are not aesthetically pleasing, and are easily damaged.

(2) Folding Screens

Folding screens are mainly made of fiberglass and plastic. They can be folded up when not in use, saving space and preventing damage or dirt caused by prolonged exposure. However, folding screens are not aesthetically pleasing, and the frames and rails are large, making them prone to damage from repeated pulling.

(3) High-Strength Stainless Steel Mesh

Mainly made of high-strength stainless steel wire, these screens have excellent shear resistance, impact resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance, but are more expensive and difficult to disassemble and clean.
